What is Quillorum?
Quillorum is a secure workspace for authors and publishers to manage advance reader review rounds. It handles manuscript sharing, reader NDA signing, reading progress tracking, and structured review collection — all in one place.
Who is Quillorum for?
Quillorum is built for fiction and non-fiction authors, independent publishers, and literary agents who want a professional, secure process for sharing pre-publication manuscripts with advance readers.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start.
I am an author with Solving Publishing. Do I need a paid subscription?
No. Authors associated with Solving Publishing can receive complimentary access. Create and verify your Quillorum account, then contact your Solving Publishing project manager so access can be applied securely before checkout.
Do I need technical knowledge to use Quillorum?
No. Quillorum is designed to be used without any technical setup. Upload your manuscript, add reader emails, and you are ready.
For authors
What file formats are supported for manuscripts?
Manuscripts must be uploaded as PDF files. We recommend exporting from your word processor at the highest quality setting.
Can I use my own NDA?
Yes. Professional and Publisher plans allow you to upload a custom NDA. Starter plan users use the standard Quillorum NDA template.
How many readers can I invite?
Starter plan allows 25 readers per book. Professional allows 150. Publisher allows unlimited. You can upgrade at any time.
Can I revoke a reader's access?
Yes. You can revoke any reader's access at any time from the reader management panel. Access is removed immediately.
Can I run multiple review rounds at the same time?
Yes. Starter allows 2 active books, Professional allows 10, and Publisher allows unlimited simultaneous books.
For readers
Is it free for readers?
Yes. Reader accounts are completely free. Only authors and publishers pay a subscription.
How do I accept an invitation?
You will receive an email from the author with a unique invitation link. Follow the link, create a free account (or sign in), and accept the invitation.
What is the NDA and why do I need to sign it?
The NDA (non-disclosure agreement) is a legal agreement not to share or reproduce the manuscript you are given access to. It protects the author's unpublished work. You must sign it before accessing the manuscript.
Can I download the manuscript?
No. Manuscripts are read in the secure in-browser viewer. Downloading, printing, and text copying are disabled for every manuscript.
Billing & accounts
Can I switch plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade through the Stripe billing portal. Stripe shows the effective date and any prorated adjustment before you confirm the change.
What happens if I cancel?
Your access continues until the end of your paid period. After that, your account switches to a read-only state — your data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but you are welcome to cancel at any time and your access will continue until the period ends.
Is there a publisher or team plan?
Yes. The Publisher plan supports multiple authors and team members under one account. Contact us for custom enterprise arrangements.
